History
VILLAGE X was born out of necessity due to COVID-19 when our five restaurant locations were forced to shut down in March 2020. We had made commitments to our farmers and were left with a ton of beautiful produce with no way of serving it.
Meanwhile grocery stores were lined up and people at risk could not get the groceries they needed, when they needed it.
So we decided to do something to help our farmers, help our community and in turn help ourselves.
24 hours later we formed V-UNIT, a collective of CORE people from all of our locations that began providing grocery boxes and meal kits to our communities when they needed it the most.
What began as a necessity has now become our passion. All of our locations and people continue to work in the spirit of our V-UNIT days, feeding people amazing produce, preparing locally sourced meal kits and featuring other great local businesses.
We have moved from our Cook St. location and merged to our Chinatown space to offer support to our team down there. We have taken on their brunch service Monday – Friday as well as fulfilling our online Meal Kit orders so they can focus on their dinner offerings and weekend brunch.
